Seized/sheared snapped brake bleed nipple Bmw MSport blue Brembo Caliper
A very common problem with the Brembo MSport Bmw Blue Caliper is that the inner bleed screw will almost always get seized and then snap/sheer off when trying to remove or undo it during a brake fluid change.
Here at Pro-Calipers we can extract every single one with 100%-win ratio if nobody has tried before us. Sometimes when people try to extract it, they will either snap the extraction tool inside the bleed screws, or damage the thread. On these occasions thread repair will be needed with a Timesert.
Most garages will simple not touch the inner bleed screws on brake fluid change as they are very aware that the bleed nipple screw will most likely break and they will have a very unfortunate (no one at fault here) conversation with the customer, as the caliper will need to be replaced.
If the car is out of warranty it could cost around £600-£700 per caliper, and in most cases it would be both front calipers that will have a siezed inner bleed screw. Rear calipers are not as bad, but we do take them here for extractions as well.
Main BMW Dealers are not allowed to work on components like calipers, and because of this they will ask you to buy a brand-new unit. Smaller independent garages can do it - you just need to find the right people for the job.
Many will fail, and time to time we receive calipers that are beyond repair, as the damage done by others are so bad that there is nothing that can be done to save them.
Please see our recent work on extractions from BMW MSport Performance Blue calipers, as well as thread repairs on the same calipers.
If you require a bleed nipple screw extraction, please email us for more information, or give us a call.
Normally the service takes just 24h and your calipers will be sent back the next working day.
On some occasions we can do the extraction while you wait but this can only be done by appointment.
We also have customers from around the world and we use DHL for shipments.
